kitesurfing school Miura Kaigan, Japan
Published May 1st, 2008 in Blog.Just a quick heads up for anyone wanting to learn Kite Surfing, Kite Boarding who’s based in the Tokyo area. Long Island Kitesurfing School in Miura Kaigan has got to be the way to go. It’s nice safe and quite sandy beach, water is safe and the train station (which is just under an hour direct from Shinagawa) stops about 200 meters from the beach.
I’ve been frequenting this beach for about a year now, and I think it’s probably the best place near Tokyo. I leave all my gear at the Kiteshop so I just keep checking the wind and jump on the train whenever the wind is picking up.

I have not kitesurfed myself, but have windsurfed in Miurakaigan. Excellent beach, I agree, for all Tokyoites who chase the wind. Will be heading down there tomorrow also, as it looks like a decent forecast.
Yeah looks good tomorrow, not sure if i can get away from work though
Ha — my boss is pretty flexible. I just told him the forecast looked pretty good and that I wouldn’t be in until much later, if at all! I will let you know how the wind blows.
